Abstract:
Our results demonstrate the specific localization of cardiotin in adult cardiomyocyte mitochondria andpropose its use as an early marker for cardiomyocyte adaptive remodeling and dedifferentiation.

Keywords:
Mitochondria; Cardiomyocytes; Remodeling; Dedifferentiation

Materials & Methods:
The adult cardiomyocytes were seeded on laminin-coated (10 μg/ml; Life Technologies) glass bottom microwell dishes (MatTek Corporation Ashland MA USA) or cover glasses in Petri dishes at a low density (103 cells/cm2) to avoid cell– cell contact.

Microscopic Technique
Confocal Microscopy, Laser Scanning

Cell Type(s)
Cardiac myocytes
